Description:
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Expanded Function Dental Assistant to join our team at the Knox County Community Health Center]. As an Expanded Function Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Perform expanded functions duties under the supervision of a licensed dentist, including but not limited to placing and carving amalgam and composite restorations, fabricating temporary crowns, and taking impressions.
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures by anticipating the needs of the dentist and patients, providing instruments and materials, and maintaining a sterile environment.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions.
- Take and develop dental X-rays as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient records and assist with office administrative tasks as required.
Requirements:
- Completion of an accredited Expanded Function Dental Assistant program.
- Current certification as an Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA)
- Current X-ray certification
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with a diverse team.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a high standard of patient care.
