Patient Service Representative

Position Summary

Are you organized, friendly, and good at keeping things moving when the phones are ringing, patients are checking in, and someone has a question that needs answered right now?

We’re looking for a Patient Services Representative to join our team. This position is often the first person our patients interact with, making it an important part of creating a welcoming, efficient, and positive experience.

As a Patient Services Representative, you’ll support patients throughout their visit while working closely with our medical, dental, and behavioral health teams.

Essential Functions:

  • Greet patients and provide friendly, professional assistance
  • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm appointments
  • Collect patient information and keep demographic information up to date
  • Mange check-in and check-out
  • Verify insurance eligibility and collect applicable co-pays and balances
  • Provide forms, instructions, and other information patients may need
  • Answer incoming phone calls and route calls appropriately
  • Relay patient messages and assist with appointment follow-up
  • Maintain accurate patient records
  • Scan/upload documents into patient records
  • Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Provides excellent customer service and enjoys helping people
  • Communicates clearly and professionally
  • Can stay organized while managing multiple priorities
  • Pays close attention to detail and understands the importance of accuracy
  • Is comfortable using computers and learning electronic health record systems
  • Works well as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Handles confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • Can remain calm, flexible, and helpful in a busy healthcare environment
